About Dr. Elbert Kwak, DDS
Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist
Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
A native of Orlando, FL, and an avid sports fan, Dr. Elbert Kwak studied Biology at Emory University. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry and went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency with NYU Langone Dental. His postdoctoral residency provided dental care for vulnerable and underserved populations at the Kokua Kalihi Valley in Honolulu, HI. (Aloha!)
After his General Dentistry residency, Dr. Kwak began practicing family dentistry in Texas and soon discovered his passion for working with children and patients with special health care needs. In his involvement with ‘Give Kids A Smile’, a volunteer event to provide free oral caare for underprivileged children, he was inspired to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry and make a positive impact on children’s long-term health. He recevied Pediatric Dental
Specialist training at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York City, where he was distinguished by his faculty and fellow doctors to serve as Chief Resident.
Upon earning his specialist certification, Dr. Kwak and his family moved back to Texas and he has since been serving famillies in the Clear Lake, Friendswood, and League City areas of Galveston County. His goal as your child's dentist is to empower your family with evidence-based care and knowledge to help your child enjoy a lifetime of beautiful, healthy smiles. He takes pride in creating a positive dental experience for his patients and their families, and is known for his humor, patience, and singing spontaneous off-key songs. (Don’t be surprised if you hear Buddy starts howling to his songs!)
When he is not at work, he loves spending time with family and their 13-year-old rescue pitbull Brooklyn and our therapy dog Buddy Astro.
